O neozelandês Kyle Mulinder praticava canoagem quando uma foca surgiu perto de sua canoa e esbofeteou seu rosto com um polvo, segundo imagens divulgadas nesta quinta-feira pela imprensa local.

O fato curioso, que foi captado por uma câmera e que se transformou em viral na internet, aconteceu no último fim de semana, em águas próximas à cidade de Kaikoura, na Ilha Sul (Nova Zelândia).

Mulinder disse ao jornal “New Zealand Herald” que estava com uns amigos observando a vida selvagem ao seu redor quando o ataque ocorreu.

“Não quem ficou mais assustado: o polvo, a foca ou eu”, ironizou o canoísta, se referindo ao que chamou de “um desses raros incidentes da mãe natureza”.

After a fun paddle around the peninsula catching waves we spotted a giant male seal fighting an octopus. Before we knew it the fight came to us and well the rest is slap to the face ? I’m not sure who got more of a surprise the seal, the octopus or me. Either way the octopus held onto the bottom of kayak for some time before our guide was able to get it off with his paddle then it swam away to fight another day.
