No alcohol on polling Sunday
At least 15 Brazilian states and the Federal District will enforce an alcohol prohibition policy during the general elections next Sunday (Oct. 5), when the population will vote for president, senators, state governors, and federal and state deputies (legislators). Since there are no countrywide laws addressing the sale of alcohol, the issue will be up to the public security department in each state. Six states have already decided to ban alcohol sales as of Saturday (Oct. 4).
