Ator de ‘Stranger Things’ passa por cirurgia para retirar 14 dentes extras

Gaten Matarazzo, o Dustin na série da Netflix “Stranger Things“, passou por uma cirurgia na sexta-feira (31). O ator tem uma síndrome genética rara, chamada displasia cleidocraniana.

No Instagram, Gaten, que tem 17 anos, publicou uma foto após a cirurgia e deu detalhes sobre o procedimento. “Apesar da minha expressão na foto não mostrar, a cirurgia foi um completo sucesso”, comentou.

Segundo ele, o procedimento foi feito para retirar dentes supranumerários, ou seja, dentes extras. A displasia cleidocraniana gera essa condição, além de possíveis anomalias na clavícula, baixa estatura e alterações no esqueleto. Foram retirados 14 dentes.

“Essa cirurgia foi tão grande que talvez eu nunca mais precise de outra”, relatou Matarazzo. O ator também falou sobre a recuperação. “Minha recuperação nos últimos dias tem sido ótima e eu não posso agradecer o time que fez a cirurgia o suficiente. Obrigado a todos pelos bons votos e orações”, disse.

Those who suffer from Cleidocranial Dysplasia usually have Supernumerary teeth, which are extra teeth that grow in the gums. I’ve had several surgeries to extract these teeth from within my gums and help expose the teeth that should have already grown in considering my age. In this surgery, the team of amazing medical professionals extracted 14 supernumerary teeth and exposed six of my adult teeth. I was under for four hours. My recovery for the past few days has been great and I can’t thank the team that did the surgery enough. Thank you all for your kind wishes and prayers. It means a lot.
